Career fair, with over 800 persons registering to be contacted for investor education programmes, conducted by the education arm of the CSE, a media release said.
“Over 2000 persons visited the stand to gather information about the investment opportunities available in the Lankan capital market. CSE officials elucidated the process of investing in the stock market through lively presentations which featured a simplified and straightforward explanation of the functioning of the capital market,” it said, adding that many existing investors also visited the stall in order to register for more advanced workshops and discuss their future investment plans.
The initiative at the EDEX stall was part of a CSE initiative to ensure a wide awareness of the capital market amongst individuals, as well as to make the public aware that if one makes an informed investment decision, the stock market is an attractive mode of investment.
