President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a one-on-one discussion at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem ahead of the bi-lateral discussions on Wednesday.

The annual Kelaniya Duruthu Maha Perahera will begin on Tuesday, at 8 pm, Chief incumbent the Ven. Prof. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangarakkitha Thera said at a news conference. The first Udamaluwe Perahera will be held today followed by the second on Monday and the Maha Perehera on Tuesday in commemoration of the Buddha's first visit to Sri Lanka, the Ven. Thera said. The pagenat will include some 40 elephants, 35 traditional dance groups and many cultural performances. The Kelani Perahera is composed of separate processions; that of the Buddha Relics and those of the three devalas, Vishnu, Kataragama and Vibhishana. Pix by Lal S Kumara
