Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya will be celebrating ten years of existence in the hockey field next year (2014). They have been performing commendably for the past nine years, which is a creditable performance.

Most of their senior and junior players have represented Sri Lanka in their respective age categories. Some of their outstanding performances during the recent past are being champions at the All Island Schools Under 19 Hockey Tournament 2013 held at the Jaffna College Bicknell ground, Jaffna. The side was captained by Sanduni Gimhani who was also selected as the Best Player in the Girls category.

They were also champions in the Colombo Schools Hockey Tournament organised by the Colombo Schools Hockey Association and were also champions at the Western Province Hockey Tournament conducted by the Ministry of Education, Western Zone.
At the National Schools Games the team emerged runners-up of the competition. This tournament was conducted by the Ministry of Education.

They also bagged the top spot at the Royal College Blue and Gold Seven-a-side Hockey Tournament with Imesha Lakshani being selected as the Best Player in the Girls’ category. This side was led by Sanduni Gimhani and was ably assisted by Subodha Lakshika. The Teacher-in-Charge was Mrs. Anjana Abeyratne and the champion outfit is coached by the experienced A.N. Perera.
