The Vaccine Forum of Sri Lanka will hold their 4th Annual Symposium on Vaccines for doctors on October 21 from 8.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the main auditorium of the Sri Lanka Medical Association, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 7 on Sunday October 27.

The highlights of the symposium include:

‘Challenging trends in prevention of Dengue fever’ by Dr. Paba Palihawadena (Chief Epidemiologist, Ministry of Health), ‘Resurgence of Vaccine Preventable diseases’ by Geethani Galagoda (Consultant Virologist at Medical Research Insitute, Colombo), ‘How to avoid fatalities in anaphylaxis’ by Prof. Anura Weerasinghe (South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine, Malabe), ‘Vaccination of the elderly’ by Prof. Jennifer Perera (Senior Professor in Microbiology, University of Colombo), and ‘How to increase acceptability of HPV vaccine’ by Prof. Krishnendu Gupta (Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences, Kolkata, India).

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and tickets may be obtained from the Sri Lanka Medical Library, No. 6 Wijerama Road, Colombo 7 or at the registration desk on the day of the event
