The Institute of Personnel Management, Sri Lanka (IPM) concluded its competition on IPM Website’s Facebook fan page where Hashini Jayasinghe emerged the winner. The recently launched FB fan page of the institute is extremely popular among its students and there were as many as around 7000 students taking part in the competition.

interesting!

The competition itself was about creating awareness about the fan page and to get the students to interact through social media. The competition was kept open for a month: from 28 July – 28 August, and the winner was announced on 9 September 2013.

The lucky owner of the brand new Samsung Galaxy S4, the winner of the competition, Hashini, commenting on the contest and the FB fan page opined that the FB fan page concept by the IPM is the perfect virtual platform that enables the student community of the institute to be active and participate in the institution’s activities. She further commented on the popularity of the page and stated that students are of the view that the page is attractive and dynamic and serves as the perfect social media platform for the IPM students.
Hashini is a student specializing in Human Resource Management (HRM); an undergraduate at the IPM following the third stage of the Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management (PQHRM), and holds the position of Human Capital Associate at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Sri Lanka.

Commenting on the IPM and its course programs, Hashini stated that all courses offered at the institute comprises extensive syllabi demanding complete interest and participation from the students. She further stated that as an HRM enthusiast keen to gain a professional qualification in HRM her first choice was the IPM as it is the most recognized local institution providing knowledge and training on the subject. She affirms that having an IPM qualification is a definite advantage especially when it comes to career advancement as majority of the organizations and businesses request for the IPM qualification.
