Milcris wins naval base contract in Oman
View(s):Milcris, the Sri Lankan Construction Consultancy & Project Management company, has been awarded the Pre-Contract and Post-Contract Cost Consultancy services for the Sultan Qaboos Naval Base in Mirbat, along with the Pre Contract Services for a Passenger Terminal building at Adam Airbase in Oman.
The Consultancy Services include the preparation of Cost Plans and Cost Management, Value Engineering process, Procurement and Tender Management for both projects and additionally the Contract & Commercial Management for the Naval Base project, the company, which recently expanded its presence in Sri Lanka, said.
The proposed Naval Base located 80 km from the city of Salalah will be equipped with the latest technology and includes the construction of a jetty, break waters, boat ramps, marine structures, various facilities to accommodate 750 persons, pontoon, emergency response system and services such as, fuel installation and underground fuel pipelines, firefighting network and protection system, communication network, as well as navigational aids.
The project is estimated at US$125 million.
The construction cost of the Passenger Terminal is $10 million. According to the company’s Business Development Manager, Sri Lanka – Terence Wijesooriya, “Milcris now works with projects worth over $8 billion across the Middle East region. We look forward to wining many more projects not only to further expand our reputation in the international arena, but also to strengthen the foreign revenues of Sri Lanka”.
