I remember, my friends asking me if I had seen Tarzan the Ape Man. I said, what? They all laughed. I didn’t get it? It turned out there was a foreign production some years ago made a film in Sri Lanka where, Tarzan, doesn’t speak. It was with beautiful Bo Derek, who I think played Jane.

Sri Lankans love movies, TV shows and I am no exception, I spent more time, at the Cinema hall during high school and my teachers and friends can attest to it. I will be the first to admit it as well. It is because of that exposure to both Sinhala, English, American and Hindi cinema, I can talk this stuff with the best anywhere.

Why, it was only the other day, when I was working as a paid, union extra in the show “New Girl”. I was, discussing early Hindi Cinema with the other Indian cast members.

They asked me how I knew so much, I was ashamed to tell them that I cut school to see, “Payaraka Mosum”. My whole class can too. So I won’t take all the credit. The only difference is, that I am in Hollywood, and they are not. So many movies, so little time amigo.
