The 17th Intake of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University marks the commencement of their 15th year of service in the Army, Navy and Air Force this August.

To mark the occasion, the members will pay tribute to batchmates who made the supreme sacrifice in safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sri Lanka, by holding a religious ceremony at the Gangaramaya in Colombo today and taking the family members of these war heroes to the Air Force Museum in Ratmalana and the KDU.

Those who lost their lives in the line of duty are Major Chaminda Bandara Karunathilake, Major Dimuthu Tharanga Liyanage, Captain Ruchira Ruvindra Samarasighe and Major Mahesh Narangoda.
