100 tickets missing !

T/20 No doubt is a popular form of cricket and everyone would like to witness this new format of the game. The guardians of the law have been given 100 tickets, no doubt to see that the crowd is controlled. But Lo! Nobody seems to know where these tickets have gone. The guardians were there as usual to see that everything moves smoothly but nobody seems to know what happened to the 100 tickets!

The bowler’s hue and cry

There was a big hue and cry by a leading bowler as to how the Press got to know that that he was not in favour of the present coach and wanted another, who was his favourite. The bowler concerned had stormed the press office of the sport and had wanted to know how the news had leaked and who was responsible for it.

Blocking another

Still on the same subject, a coach had been picked to undergo training in neighbouring India and he had even volunteered that he is in a position to find the necessary funds for the tour. But ultimately he did not go on the tour. This action deprived another of making the tour. A clear case of him not going and preventing another going on the tour as well.

Where has all the money gone?

It is a well known fact that the popular version of T/20 cricket is not encouraged at school level and this version of the game is banned in schools. Nevertheless an under 13 team had visited India recently without even the Education Department knowing about it. It is said that each player had to pocket out Rs. 45,000 for travel. This amount is said to be staggering as most of the traveling has been done by train and the only air-travel had been from Colombo to Madras and back. Where has the rest of the money gone?

On the lurch

The news is that a popular cricket association in the South had its AGM recently and the man who had sought the post of secretary had promised that he would get all those who support him, gainfully employed. Now that the AGM is over the person concerned had got himself gainfully employed while rest have been left on the lurch without employment. What a life!
