The Chefs Guild of Sri Lanka proudly presents the 15th edition of ‘Culinary Art 2013’ which is Sri Lanka’s leading food and hospitality trade show. The battle of the chefs will be held from August 2 to 5 at the BMICH. The main objective of The Chefs Guild in hosting this show is to provide a platform for upcoming chefs to display their skill, technique and creativity all on one stage.

The show has established itself as the leading meeting place for professionals of the hospitality industry. It will showcase a wide range of products and services that range from raw materials to finished products and equipment.

This food and hotel show is also identified as one of the largest in Asia and is also recognised by the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS) and is judged by WACS approved professionals from all around the world. The competitions will be conducted in keeping with the WACS culinary competition guidelines.

“We are also proud to note that Culinary Art 2013 will extend the borders in identifying and rewarding all our young apprentices in all the regions,” said the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Chefs Guild, Gerard Mendis at the press conference announcing the event.

This annual event was initiated in 1988 with only 75 competitors and today has around 1000 chefs competing for gold, silver and bronze medals.
