Travel Directory in DVD format
View(s):A new edition of comprehensive digital travel directory with details of all the tourist destinations in the country was released recently. A novel idea by well known film and teledrama producer, Ranjith Perera, the Sri Lanka Travel Directory on DVD format provides all tourism related information that is compressed into a one digital video disc (DVD).

The DVD contained historically, archeologically and culturally important sites, sunny beaches and blue seas and wild life spots with all the existing hotels, tour operators, rent a car service and all other tourism related business ventures, the distance in mileage and all other vital information that a tourist must know about Sri Lanka are included cinematically in the way of a documentary film.
“My main aim is to promote Sri Lankan with its unique features for tourism,” Ranjith Perera said. Plans are also underway to publish a book containing all the details that come across in the DVD.
The travel directory in DVD format was released at a time the country did not have anything to promote Sri Lanka in audio-visual medium and it was a useful guide to foreigners to get a real picture about our country and plan a tour according to his or her interest. .
The original DVD Directory covered the period of 2009/2010 and it was released with the plans to update. The DVD was produced in English with subtitles in other popular languages such as German, French, Italian, Japanese etc.
