state-owned Export Development Board (EDB).

The appointment was made by Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen on Tuesday, the ministry said. Mr. Egodage, who has been with Nestlé Lanka for the last 28 years, has comprehensive experience in rural development (particularly in relation to dairy), exports (coconuts), external and public affairs, and local and international government and regulatory engagement.

The earlier EDB chairman was Janaka Ratnayake. Mr Edogade will continue in his current position at Nestle’s in addition to his new assignment.
