Central Industries PLC, Sri Lanka’s leading manufacturers of national PVC pipes and fittings, recently inaugurated the first phase of its brand new factory complex at Yakkala.

The new, 9-acre factory complex was built to meet increasing consumer demand for the company’s popular brands of PVC Pipes and fittings and Krypton Electrical switches and will help increase production capacity of the existing factory complex at Kerawalapitiya, a company statement to the media said.

At a ceremony graced by S.V. Wanigasekera, Chairman – Central Industries, board directors and staff members, Director/CEO Newton Wickramasuriya said, “In line with our vision of maintaining highest standards in manufacturing, we subject all our products to strict tests at our state-of-the-art laboratory before releasing those to the market. The high quality of our products has enabled our company to become a leading player in the industry.”

Launched in 1985, Central Industries says it is the first Sri Lankan company to receive Sri Lankan standard certificates in place of then traditional Japanese standard certificates.
