The show will be on May 31, at the New Town Hall Theatre at 6 p.m. Tickets are now available at the SLFUW headquarters at No. 96/25, Kithulwatte Road, Colombo 8 and also at the entrance on the day of the show.

The Sri Lanka Federation of University Women is a non governmental organisation which was established in 1941. It was declared an approved charity in 1982 and was incorporated under a Parliamentary act in 1985. “SLFUW has had a long and wonderful history of bringing together graduates from all over the island under one roof. We have three branches, in Jaffna, Colombo and Kandy.

We invite undergraduates and graduates to join our federation. You just have to be a Sri Lankan graduate of an International Federation of University Women’s approved university,” said President, SLFUW, Col. Dr. Udula Krishnaratne.

SLFUW provides scholarships to undergraduates and post-graduate students well as grade five scholarship students. The funds raised will go to their “Visually Handicapped Women Undergraduates Association” established last year and other less privileged undergraduates.

“These are very intelligent young women. If given a supporting hand they will surely shine in the academic world,” Col. Dr. Udula Krishnaratne said. SLFUW also conducts health seminars for elders, career guidance workshops for university students, vocational training for the less privileged, provides stationery for less privileged school students between 11-14 and even provides opportunities for its members to participate in international workshops.
