There were as many as 15 different schools to battle it out on stage with intricate steps, graceful moves and pulsating beats at the Bishops College Auditorium. The Inter School Dance Competition, organized by Alethea International School and sponsored by Aspirations Educations was indeed an affair to remember.

Nothing was spared with dancers opting for elaborate costumes, sensational music and pivoting dance moves. Choreographers and dance maestros left no stone unturned coaxing their students to shine and dazzle on stage.

Young dancers from not only Colombo based schools but out – station as well ranging from Kandy, Avissawella, Gampaha and Negombo to name a few, enthralled the audience with Fusion and Bollywood dances on Day 1.

Day 2 saw a packed auditorium mesmerized by western and traditional dancers who combined skill, choreography and talent in a stiff competition that had the judges sweating as well.

The three best schools in each category went on to perform on the last day to a full-house charged with excitement and anticipation. An eminent panel of judges ensured fair-play and offered constructive words of advice to the performers. Among the distinguished judges were Ms. Rangana Ariyadasa, Mr. Kevin Nugera and Mr. Shohan Chandiram.

Each style of dance was judged in three categories namely Juniors, Intermediate, Seniors and Open Age Group.
