Price hike in cement and chicken
View(s):The price of a 50-kg bag of cement was increased between Rs 68-85 with effect from midnight on Saturday, the, Consumer Affairs Authority said.
Along with this, the price of a kg of chicken too was increased by Rs 30.An official of the Trade and Consumer Affairs ministry said that the increases were made following requests from both cement importers as well as poultry traders. However, the price hikes are less than what was demanded, he said.
Last week, the prices of cigarettes as well as alcohol products were increased.
