Finance and banking course for journalists

A diploma course in economics, banking and finance for journalists is being jointly organized by the Centre for Banking Studies of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, next month.

The course is free to participants and will be conducted at the Centre for Banking Studies, 58, Sri Jayawardenepura Mawatha, Rajagiriya starting August 14 over a period of five months. The course schedule is a total of 20 days at three hours per day and one day per week. It will be conducted in Sinhala and English.

The course will deal with economics, banking and finance, overview of economic concepts, monetary policy and fiscal policy, financial stability, payments and settlements, economic growth and development, international trade and finance, capital markets and its functions and behaviour.
