View(s):

“The Milo Sri Lanka Schools All Island Age Group Aquatic Championships has fuelled the progress and growth of swimming in the country and unearthed a bed of talent,” organizers of the Sri Lanka Schools’ Aquatic Sports Association (SLASA) said recently.

Speaking at a press briefing announcing the annual swim meet, several senior SLASA officials, including its President Y. Yapa, said that the tournament had unveiled high-caliber swimmers such as the Olympic duo – Heshan Unamboowe and Reshika Udugampola.
The 39th edition of the tournament will take place from June 28 to July 1 at the Ananda College swimming pool, and will see action across six age groups (from under 9 to under 19) in both boys and girls categories.

Last year’s boys’ champion, St. Joseph’s College, and girls’ champion, Mahamaya Girls’ College, will once again be strong contenders for the title.
