Raigam Tele’es recognize TV talents

Multi-talented Damitha Abeyrtane bagged the best tele drama actress while Bimal Jayakody became the best actor at a glittering Raigam Tele’es award held at the Waters Edge, Battaramulla recently.
For the fourth consecutive year, young Nehara Peiris walked away with the award for the most popular tele actress while Saranga Dissasekara was voted the most popular actor.

Sudath Rohana’s periodic teleplay ‘Swayanjatha’ won a number of awards including Best Actress for Damitha Abeyratne, Best Supporting Actor for Athula Pathirana, Best Singer (femail) for Visharada Nanda Malini, Best Music Director-Navaratne Gamage, Best Lyricist- Bandara Eheliyagoda, Best make up for Nalin Premathilaka and Pujitha Sandadura and Best Art Direction for Deepthi Mangalasoma.
‘Ethkanda Lihiniya’ directed by Sarath Dharmasiri adjudged the best teledrama while
Upul Jayasinghe’s ‘Sihina Piyapath’ directed by Sandun Rajakaruna was voted the most popular tele drama.

The Best TV News presenters were won by Chethana Liyanage (Sinhala), Irfan Mohamed (Tamil) and Mahina Bongso (English) while the Best TV Host was won by Samitha Prasannaarachchi (Sinhala), C. Kirubakaran (Tamil) and Sharon Mascrenhas (English).

Veteran actor, script writer and novelist Tony Ranasinghe was honoured with with ‘Prathibha Prabha’, the Lifetime Achievement Award.
