Aney Is It True With Nam
Irish snub

A certain Irish coach was brought to Sri Lanka to give special hints on the sport that is played with the oval ball.

This coach was to be given a rousing farewell at the NOC premises but when the time came for the function to thank the coach for his services only nine turned up! Frantic calls were made to a nearby rugby club and that too could not change the number to bid goodbye and thank the coach. Ultimately the function was held at the huge place with the chairs outnumbering the guests. What a let down!

Bahrain woes
The normal practice is for a sports team to tour abroad is to get prior approval from the powers that be. However a team is currently in Bahrain taking part in a sports contest. The talk doing the rounds is that a certain pretty individual having powerful connections has however obtained permission from an even powerful individual and the team is now in Bahrain.

Saki does the trick in Japan
This time the scene moves to Japan where a certain team went to play matches. This time a big shot in the game has been so pissed off that he had behaved in a very bad manner. Youngsters in the tour party have been shocked by this big man’s behaviour. What a little drink can do?

Family feud lets the baton down
A family feud between athletes at the Asian Games in China resulted in a bad baton change. The athletes concerned have been at loggerheads because of a family feud. It so happened that these two female athletes had to change the baton and when it came to the crucial moment the feud emerged and the baton change was spoilt. Was it pre-planned?

The powers that be
A top level cricketer was boasting that he will never be dropped from a team. These words had been conveyed to the highest place and the order had come for this cricketer to come to headquarters and seek pardon from the powers that be. It looks as if the ‘powers that be’ have their ears and noses to the ground and seems to know what is happening in sports circles.

The Donation Box
The news that is buzzing in sports circles is that a sport official has been told that his predecessors have been getting certain donations and that this official too should accept them. Undeterred the official has said that there is a donation box and all those who are desirous of making any donations should drop them to the box and they will be equally distributed amongst the sports bodies that are in need of them.

What happened to shadow man?
They say that what the eye sees is not the pure truth. The bookie-man had wanted some changes in the team in the African country and the shadow-man told him where to get off. What the shadow-man did not know was that from that point onwards he was a marked man and what transpired thereafter finished quicker than Hadley Chase novel. What a pity for the lovely game.
