Produced by Jayantha Peiries, the main roles are played by Roshan Pilapitiya and Chathurika Peiris in the lead roles. Other roles are played by Wijeratne Warakagoda, Hyacinth Wijeratne, Gamini Hettiarachchi, Damayanthi Fonseka, Kanchana Kodituwakku, Kusum Renu, Rahal Bulathsinghala, and Susila Kottage.

“Doing a story like ‘Sulang Kapolla’ is a real challenge. This is a teleplay with a different theme and a different presentation,” says director Nalan Mendis.

“This teledrama is also a challenge for actors and artistes as they have to go beyond the dialogues and give priority to strong facial and body expressions,” Mendis said. A novel theme instead of the hackneyed and stereotype teleplay stories, I am sure ‘Sulang Kapolla’ will be liked by the audience as well, he said.
‘When I first read the script it really shocked me due to its touching and moving storyline.

This is not a story about an ordinary couple but an extraordinary lovers who are making sacrifices for the sake of the deep bond between them,’ Roshan Pilapitiya who plays the main role said.

Writer Nihal Peiris

Describing the story, writer of ‘Sulang Kapolla’ Nihala Peiries says ‘This is a time where qualities like love and humanity are hard to find. Many expect a 100% from others but it is a question of whether how far they are ready to give such a love to others. They are ready to love as long as they are not affected or hurt,’.

‘The heroine in our story is an extraordinary character who believes that real love should not be betrayed in whatever circumstances’.

‘I am trying to bring out that people who complain that there is no love are the very people who make this world without love’ the writer added.

The camera is handled by Priyantha Pradeep, make up is by Henry Premaratne and art director of ‘Sulang Kapolla’ is Chandana Priyankara.
