Musaeus College Colombo emerge champions

Lyceum International School, Nugegoda successfully concluded their sixth under-15 schools scrabble championship recently.

After three years of domination at this contest by the boys of S Thomas' College Mt Lavinia, Musaeus College Colombo emerged champs this time. This was the 2009 tournament which was postponed and held in January 2010. STC Mt Lavinia were the runners up and Malliyadeva Girls, Kurunegala became 2nd runners up, with Lyceum Nugegoda 4th, Lyceum Wattala 5th and Isipatana College Colombo 6th.
The other awards were:

Highest Games Score of 564 by Nishan Perera (LIS N); Highest Word Score of 101 by Shayani Withanage of Musaeus for the word 'HOLDERS'. Sasika Jayasuriya (STC Mt) was adjudged the Most Outstanding Player for all four game wins plus highest point margin. Ruwindu Chandradasa (LIS P) was 'Youngest Player of the Tournament'.

Mr. Sam Chandrasena, Director of Sports at LIS Nugegoda distributed the awards.
