Funday Times - A Poem for the week

A peaceful Christmas
By Ayodhya Perera (14 years), Bishop's College

The land is full of peace,
As the festive season is near,
Happiness, smiles and joyous faces,
No more pain or fear.

Children with their faces aglow,
As they go caroling,
"Peace on Earth, goodwill to men"
Sri Lanka: the land with no more sin.

Christmas morn is dawning,
As we see a radiant light,
The Christmas star, shining above,
And a flight of doves in the sky.

A choir of hallowed angels sing,
From heaven as they come,
"Peace is hear, Mother Lanka,
Your nation is now ONE."
