Room to Read Sri Lanka together with the National Library and Documentation Services Board held a press conference to brief the media about the activities planned for the final event to mark the National Reading Month, which is October.

Mr. E. A. Samarasinghe, Chairman, NLDSB, Mr. M. K. Weerasinghe, Director General, NLDSB and Mr. Glenfrey De Mel, Country Director, Room to Read Sri Lanka addressed the gathering.

Multimedia Library

The British School in Colombo (BSC) celebrated October, the Month for Reading by launching a fully equipped Multimedia Library in the Junior School on Friday October 30, 2009.

The library was declared open by Directress of BSC Mrs. Chokatte. The Principal Mr. Andrew Fowler-Watt and Head of Junior School Mr. Ben Evans were at this occasion.

Playtime @ ABC

Playtime @ ABC will go on the boards at the British School Auditorium on Friday November 13, 2009 at 6.15 p.m. Students of ABC Pre-school aged 2 to 5 years will present an evening of music.

The programme includes Nursery Rhyme Medley, Bath Time Boogie, Barney songs, a traditional 'Kulu Dance' and a children's song in Tamil and Sinhala. The final item on the programme is an English drama, 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'.
