The photographic exhibition, ‘35 original prints’, by Robert Doisneau presented by his printer Philippe Salaün is on at the Alliance Francaise de Colombo, Barnes Place, Colombo 7.
Robert Doisneau

Robert Doisneau was born in the suburb of Paris. Although he studied engraving, he began working for the Renault car company but was fired for being constantly late. Later he joined the Rapho Agency.

He is considered a member of ‘l’École de Paris’, a group of humanist photographers, as his work deals mainly with human subjects in Paris and its suburbs. His photography also portrays humour and generosity.

Although Robert is dead his photographs will continue to tell his story.The exhibition is on till July 23.
