Young artists of Rajans at 'Roo 2009'
From our Kid Reporter Isuru Herath (8 years) Dharmaraja College, Kandy. Kid Reporter K – 01

It was a colourful day at E.L. Senanayake Library, Kandy on March 20, 2009. The students of Dharmaraja College had organized 'Roo 2009' Art Exhibition.

The event was honoured by famous artist Mr. Charles Dayananda. Pupils of Dharmaraja from Grade 1 – 12 showed their feelings through paints and brushes and most of the paintings were to express the beauty of nature.

Many other schools in Kandy also took part in drawing. The best artists were given awards to encourage their hidden talents. The chief guest was impressed to see their talents.

Most of the people who came to see the exhibition insisted that the school will produce a good set of artists to the country. Being a student of Dharmaraja College, I felt proud of my school.

I was privileged to attend the opening ceremony. I thank our Principal Mr. S.M. Keerthirathna, the organizing committee and our art teachers for giving us a wonderful experience.

Special thanks to Mrs. Deepthi Priyadarshini for being with us throughout the programme.
