It's not just another University 'foundation' course…

Imperial Institute of Higher Education (IIHE), in keeping with its promise since its inception in 1996 - to provide quality university education to discerning students, has once again stepped up and set up yet another benchmark in private university education in Sri Lanka. IIHE has introduced Edexcel BTEC National Diploma in Business (NDB), which is not just another 'foundation course' available in the market, but a globally recognized university entrance qualification.

Most institutions offering 'foundation courses' in the market today are accepted ONLY within their respective institution or University. If a student wants to enter other Universities, such qualifications may not be accepted and would need to spend almost the same amount of money and follow other courses to gain acceptance. The NDB offered at IIHE is accepted at almost all UK based Universities and many commonwealth countries' Universities, making this a truly global pathway for students seeking international qualifications.

In Dr. Thilaka Weerakoon's (CEO/Academic Director - IIHE) view; a University requires A Levels or recognized alternative qualifications to ensure that students can successfully complete the Degree. Therefore their entry qualifications are the foundation on which the Degree is built. Short duration foundation courses without proper structure and adequate contact hours are not the best way to achieve a solid foundation for a successful degree experience. The Edexcel BTEC NDB is a proven and accepted qualification.

Students who have completed O/Ls with six passes would be eligible to commence the NDB offered by IIHE. Students who do not have sufficient A/L standings to gain admission to a University programme can follow the NDB to top up their A/Ls. Such students may only need to follow a particular number of modules.

This is an 18 month course. This programme will not only reduce the waiting time of parents and students to enter Universities but also reduce the risk factor which other programmes carry with them. IIHE believes in transparency in its pricing policy. Therefore, parents and students do not need to worry about fee revisions, as once you register as a student, these revisions will not apply to you. There are no hidden charges and costs within the fee schedule, presented to parents and students.

The NDB is offered by IIHE through Edexcel UK, which is a globally recognized, independent body providing quality education path ways. The NDB in Sri Lanka is offered ONLY at IIHE, which is testimonial to the commitment by Edexcel and IIHE towards quality standards.
