Funday Times - A Poem for the week

Seasons
By Githmi Wijenarayana (12 years) Southlands College, Galle

Soft sunrays dance about,
Leaves and flowers are peeping out,
Bird songs everywhere,
Spring is in the air.

A bright sight, the nature made,
Leaves and flowers never to fade,
Squirrels frisking fro and to,
The summer sky is ever so blue.

The leaves are now the colours of dawn,
Red and gold and chestnut brown.
Raspberries, blueberries,
juicy on trees,
The autumn ways delight and please.

A frosty cold seeps over the place,
The trees are covered in a snowy haze.
The cold wind makes an eerie call,
Winter is most enchanting of all.
