'Knowledge Supersedes Profits', says WISDOM

Wisdom - the specialist in CIMA education announced a competitive pricing structure for its Managerial and Strategic levels recently. This announcement comes as a result of a student survey that was conducted to determine the impact of the current economic crisis on its students' ability to finance their way to completion of the professional examination of CIMA-UK. Having implemented a reduction of course fee of Rs. 15,000/= for all three subjects, this value-for-money proposition is centred on the fact that knowledge supersedes profitability, as stated by a spokesperson of Wisdom Business Academy, which is the largest CIMA institute in Sri Lanka as well as the second-largest in the world.

Commenting on the announcement, its lecture panel explains: "What was found by way of a survey conducted on their existing student population is that the current economic crisis is causing immense pressure on the parents of these students and well as themselves in making payments for tuition fees, which, when done, had been at an opportunity cost to basic requirements of daily living". In keeping to this finding, the academy reveals that it possesses the endurance muscle to sustain and deliver the same levels of service and in doing so, remains focused to maintain its status as the breeding ground of CIMA professionals. This was yet again proved by the fact that at the November 2008 exam, Wisdom produced five Sri Lankan prize winners out of 10 Managerial and Strategy subjects.

Wisdom recorded an all-time record since its existence, at the enrolment of more than 950 Certificate/Foundation level students at its September '08 intake. It is now aiming to meet student requests to commence its next Managerial/Strategic intake that will transpire on a first-come-first-served-basis. More than 50% of Managerial and Strategy capacity has already filled up and students are encouraged to register soon to avoid disappointment.

Wisdom Business Academy is an accredited CIMA (UK) Learning Quality Partner with an ISO 9001:2000 accreditation. It was founded in 2002 on the principle of grooming tomorrow's management accountants with financial expertise and strategic ability to take them closer towards career goals and success. In maintaining its accreditation as a CIMA Learning Quality Partner, it closely follows compliance guidelines stipulated by CIMA (UK). Since its inception, Wisdom has maintained a highly qualified and experienced lecture panel and possesses above-the-average infrastructure facilities such as fully air conditioned and spacious classrooms with the latest teaching aids; comprehensive library and a computer based examination centre; an in house cafeteria and good sanitary facilities; parking facilities; part payment terms and credit card facilities as well as job placement and career guidance.

During its six year glorious life-span, Wisdom has produced 7 world prize winners and 71 Sri Lanka prize winners. The Prize Winners and a few other top achievers at the November 2008 examinations were happy to share their experiences about Wisdom and its unmatched panel of lecturers.

Pavalanathan Priyanthan - Sri Lanka Prize winner for Management Accounting Decision Management, and Joint Sri Lanka Prize winner for Financial Analysis in November 2008 Examinations states "I was moved by the exceptional interest shown by Wisdom on the progress of each and every student. Providing up-to-date study materials and the friendly learning environment helped me a lot to attain my achievement. The entire course was well structured and the coordination given by the management of Wisdom was massive.

The guidance and support rendered by my lecturers was immense. At each and every lecturing session we were moulded towards the examination, which created in me a greater confidence to face the examinations successfully. The immediate clarifications made upon our doubts gave us a perfect knowledge on the subject matter. I was impressed by the passion of all lecturers in giving their maximum effort for the success of every student.

Wisdom, the name itself reveals the supreme position which it holds for CIMA education, which I experienced, therefore I recommend Wisdom to anyone hoping to do and doing CIMA".

Dimuthu Obeysekera - Joint Sri Lanka Prize winner for Organisational Management & Information Systems in November 2008 Examinations states "Since I am a full time university student, I hardly have any time for extra studying, but since the course at Wisdom has been so well structured I only needed to do my day-to-day class work to keep up my knowledge on the subject. All the lecturers were extremely helpful in providing me with a thorough understanding of the subject. Any doubts presented were promptly clarified. Both the lecturers provided good study methods giving me a genuine interest for such a theoretical subject. A proper revision programme was conducted and all the materials were reviewed using mind maps and summaries.

Wisdom has been the best educational institute I have attended so far. The lecturers and staff can be relied upon to provide value for money and take genuine interest in student welfare. I will continue my CIMA studies at Wisdom and will recommend it to any friends without any doubt".

Nidharshana Thiyagalingam - Joint Sri Lanka Prize winner for Organisational Management & Information Systems in November 2008 Examinations states "This achievement was made a reality, thanks to the guidance and support that was rendered to me by my lecturers. They approached the subject with 100% commitment and dedication which ensured that we all followed the correct path to success. Along with covering the entire syllabus our lecturers also helped us improve our essential writing skills and exam techniques, so that all of us sat for the exam with greater confidence".

Charith Mendis - Sri Lanka Prize winner for Management Accounting Performance Evaluation in November 2008 Examinations states "Wisdom environment was really a place in which I was able to acquire wisdom, as it helped me a great deal in nurturing my abilities.

The lecture panel was truly dedicated towards their respective subjects and I think I am privileged to have been under the guidance of them. Again I say Wisdom delivers what it says it will deliver, sometimes even exceeding expectations. So according to my point of view I strongly recommend wisdom to carry on your CIMA studies".
