SLAF Seva Vanitha gives helping hand to Morawewa residents

SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit organized a special welfare programme on March 12 for women and girl children in the Morawewa area under the patronage of the Chairperson Nelun Goonatilleke to facilitate the programme launched by the government to resettle internally displaced families, in commemorating International Women's Day.

The SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit has erected four tube wells in the area and renovated and developed the Morawewa pre-school, equipping it with desks, chairs, stationery, sensorial equipment and other accessories. A facility for the provision of clean drinking water was also installed.

Gift packs and dry rations were given to 75 families and clothing items, aluminum pots and slippers to all participants.

Five wheelchairs were distributed among five disabled personnel of Morawewa area and all the Air Force detachments were gifted with valuable sports equipment.

Mrs. Nelun Goonetilleke, Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, the Group Commander of SLAF Morawewa, Group Captain Leonard Rodrigo, Government officials of the Morawewa area and residents took part in the event.
