NEXT creates history again in CIM education…

State of the art learning facility at NEXT

NEXT School of Business, the premier Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM UK) education centre in Sri Lanka created history once again by attracting over 425 students for the June 2009 session, the largest student population for any single intake. They also surpassed the last intake numbers which was a record six months ago.

Speaking to Education Times, the General Manager, NEXT School of Business Kumudu Abeywardene said "We have over 425 students registered with us for June 2009 examination and inquiries are still flowing in; this is a record for CIM education to have such a number for a single intake. We are very grateful to the students, their parents and employers for placing trust and confidence in NEXT and helping us to create history in CIM education in Sri Lanka.". She went on to say "in difficult economic times it's heartening to have record numbers for CIM; this is purely as a result of our lecture panel at NEXT. We always believe that a practical subject like marketing has to be taught by senior practicing marketers in the country. Our lecture panel consisting of Dusty, Bertram, Ravi, Tharanga & Jeffrey are all MBA qualified senior marketers in local and multinational companies holding COE and heads of marketing positions. They are trained in UK by CIM and have many years of lecturing experience with a record of high pass rates".

NEXT School of Business started operations in October 2007 and soon became the largest CIM institute in Sri Lanka. NEXT successfully introduced the new CIM syllabus for stage 1 and completed the Dec 2008 session. The practical nature of the new syllabus is complimentary to the skills of the lecture panel at NEXT. They also have developed their own series of publications for all four subjects and assignment guidelines for the two assignment based subjects. The response for June 2009 stage 1 has been overwhelming with weekend classes filling almost up to capacity. The full time weekday batch offers concessionary rates for students who are studying on a full time basis. The ever popular stage 2 weekend classes were full in no time and prompted NEXT to start a weekday evening stage 2 classes to cater to the extra demand. For all subjects students receive easy to use, exam oriented NEXT publications.

With the increasing inquiries for CIM Introductory course, NEXT will commence delivering the introductory certificate course from April 2009. It helps students to fast track their academic career by starting CIM early in life. Typically students are required to complete advanced level before they start CIM stage 1. However by completing the CIM introductory certificate, a student can progress to CIM stage 1 without having to complete advanced level exams. In fact a student now has the chance of becoming 'fully CIM qualified' before leaving school and thereby become 'job ready' when they leave school.
Apart from the expert lecture panel, NEXT School of Business has a state of the art modern learning facility conveniently located at Havelock Road. NEXT is setting up a computer laboratory facility for the use of students. Ample parking and easy access through public transport are benefits students find at NEXT. Within a year of operation NEXT became the leader in CIM education in Sri Lanka and achieved recognition as a CIM Accredited Tuition Centre.

NEXT School of Business was set up by a group of professionals who are holding senior management positions in the Corporate Sector and who have in common the passion of empowering young executives with the knowledge, skills and competences required for career advancement and personal development. Apart from marketing education, NEXT has ventured into corporate training & consulting, language studies, recruitment and graduate & postgraduate studies.
