We all have a say in Lanka

By M.I. Mohamed Ansar, Matara

You have a say in Sri Lanka,
I have a say in Sri Lanka.
We all have our say in Sri Lanka,
Sri Lanka belongs to us- one and all,
Unity, peace and harmony matter overall.
Nationalities go to build up a nation,
Disunity between them causes degradation.
All citizens have their say in the country,
Be they Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim or Burgher gentry.
Ownership of the land doesn't go to any community,
Conflict sets in when the majority relegates the minority.
We are all Sri Lankans and all belong to Sri Lanka,
From birth until death, we're citizens of Sri Lanka,
Sri Lanka is multi-ethnic and multi-religious,
Life, in general, remains simply harmonious.
A united and undivided Sri Lanka is our President's vision,
Working towards achieving this goal should be our mission.
The concept of nationhood comes into fruition,
When nationalities work together to build up the nation.
