Golfers playing at the picturesque Water’s Edge country club, in a recent picture. Full ownership and management of the Water’s Edge at Battaramulla from Asia Pacific Golf course (Pvt) Ltd to the government takes place today with the statesquo remaining except for golf, after the recent Supreme Court judgment.

A new management company, Water’s Edge Ltd will handle affairs and will retain all the employees plus the equipment including furniture to run the existing business. The new management committee comprises Dr. P. Ramanujam (Chairman), top hoteliers and also well-known architect Ismeth Rahim. Hiran Cooray, a committee member, said the golf course will be turned into a water retention area but re-developed as a nature park, in which Mr Rahim will play a key role.
