Nagesh no more

Chennai, January 31: Veteran Tamil actor and comedian, Cyril K. Nagesh, popularly known as Nagesh, passed away yesterday. He was 77. Nagesh is survived by three sons, including actor Anand Babu.

Nagesh was suffering from heart ailment and diabetes. He has acted in 1,000 films and is most remembered for his role in the movie, Thiruvilayaadal, Kadhalikka Neramillai, Server Sundaram, Galatta Kalyanam, Ethir Neechal, Valarthu Mrigangal and Nammavar.

A prominent presence in South Indian Cinema for over five decades, Nagesh acted with actors of different generations and in all South Indian languages. His last appearance was in Kamal Hassan’s Dasavatharam, in which he played a goodhearted Muslim.
