AIT - Doctor of Business Administration Program in Sri Lanka

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) the regions leading University is now accepting applications for the third batch of their prestigious DBA program in Sri Lanka in association with ICBT Campus.
Established in Bangkok in 1959, AIT has become a leading regional post graduate institution and is actively working with public and private sector partners throughout the region. AIT`s mission is to produce qualified and committed professionals who will play leading roles in the economics of as many countries they come from. The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has been designated by the United Nations as the permanent site of the world's first Regional Centre of Excellence on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), dedicated to the promotion and achievement of the MDGs in South-East Asia through education and training.

United Nations Secretary-General H.E. Ban Ki-Moon on 25 March gave his full endorsement for the creation of the ASEAN Regional Center of Excellence on MDGs at AIT in an audio visual remark to an international stakeholders meeting titled "ECOSOC's Promotion and Achievement of Millennium Development Goals through Education and Outreach".

ICBT campus was the first institute in Sri Lanka to introduce a foreign MBA with 100% foreign faculty. ICBT in identifying the need to deliver a high quality internationally recognized DBA has been able to develop and launch the AIT DBA considering the need to fill the vacuum in this area of education. It is the first time in Sri Lanka a foreign DBA is offered under a international faculty visiting Sri lanka .

The full program will be conducted in Sri Lanka by a 100% foreign faculty. The faculty members consist of professors from UK, Australia, US, etc. First year of the program will consist theory where the lectures are conducted on selected weekends where the student can earn up to 24 credits; the balance 60 credits are linked to the research thesis where the student is expected to complete the thesis within the next two to four years.. During the research period the students will be guided and supervised by up to 3 foreign professors.

'During the first year the students are summon to AIT on a familiarization week where they will meet DBA student of diverse nationalities as well as some of the internationally acclaimed business leaders.
AIT and ICBT has secured a luxury suite at the Mount Lavinia hotel to conduct lectures and all students will even get food and refreshments during the class times. In addition the students will be also given privilege membership to the Mount Lavinia hotel.

Those eligible to read for the Doctorate are executives from the private and the public sector who carry master's qualification in management or in a related area and minimum of ten years work experience and out of which three years of senior managerial work experience.. AIT already have two batches of students currently enrolled for the program, these students represent some of the best companies and organizations in Sri Lanka.
