Asoka to officiate in Bangladesh
 

Asoka de Silva - Sri Lanka's most experienced international umpire and a member of the ICC's elite panel will fly across to Bangladesh to stand for their two Test matches which will run from October 17 to 29.

De Silva who represented Sri Lanka in ten Test matches and twenty eight One-day Internationals is really spending his second lease with the elite panel of the ICC.

He made his international debut at Galle against Pakistan in 1999/00 and was on the ICC's Elite Umpires Panel for a brief period of time before being relegated in early 2004. He was recalled to the elite panel once again when the ICC reshuffled its umpiring ranks early this year.

This will be his 34th and 35th outings at the middle as an ICC umpire at Test Cricket.. He also umpired in two Cricket World Cups in 2003 and 2007. (SRP)
