Nalin & Star Combination geared up for the season

Nalin and the Star Combination have moved to the frontline of the entertainment scene. When there is sound rapport, a band rises to its fullest potential. The secret behind the immense popularity currently being enjoyed by Nalin and the Star Combination is their unique style and exquisite selection of music. No wonder, that Nalin and the Star Combination have a tight schedule playing for dances, weddings and shows.

The group comprises Nalin Fernando on guitar / vocals, Shirmila Fonseka on vocals, Dilanthe Silva on keyboards / vocals and Hirushke Fernando on guitar / vocals. Nalin is the main vocalist and guitarist. Shirmila is the daughter of the late C D Fonseka with whom she started singing at the age of 7. While she has many originals to her credit, she renders the top hits with sheer excellence.

Dilanthe played keyboards for well over 12 years with the Gypsies and currently displays his versatility handling the keyboards and percussion for the 'Star Combination'. Hirushke displays extraordinary skill handling guitar and vocals for the group.

He is young and dynamic and the winner of many talent contests and Karaoke championships. Overall, Nalin and the Star Combination are replete with everything it takes to keep their audiences musically excited with the thrills of great musicianship. With their wide repertoire of golden oldies, contemporary chart hits, country and western, rock 'n' roll, baila and Sinhala pop combined with their tight musicianship, make them one of the best loved entertainment outfits in Sri Lanka today.

Whilst being fully booked in Colombo for the coming season , there is a great demand for their musicianship island wide. They will be in action on Saturday, October 11 in Kandy at the Queen's Hotel for the Dinner-Dance organised by the Dance Academy of Prince Ratnam.
