Lankan expert to address international shipping conference
 

Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake

Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake, Chairman/Chief Executive – Aitken Spence Maritime and Director - Aitken Spence Group, has been invited to present a paper on “State Owned Port Operators – The Way Forward” at the 3rd Southern Asia International Ports, Logistics and Shipping Conference which will be held in Mumbai on September 25 and 26, his office said.

Dr. Dissanayake who has authored numerous articles on Marketing, Ports and Shipping related subjects, has played a pioneering role in developing commercial maritime education in Sri Lanka through the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in his capacity as the founder Secretary and subsequently Chairman. He is former Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority and Jaya Container Terminals and past Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and has served on the UN/UNCTAD panel as an expert on Ports and Shipping.
