Sharya in exciting win over Nadindi

Sharya Guruge has to use all her experience before pulling off an exciting 5-9, 9-6, 3-9, 9-4 and 9-6 win over the promising Nadindi Udangawa to win the under 17 title at the 19th Junior Squash Nationals concluded at the Tamil Union squash courts yesterday.

This final took centre stage from all the finals worked off yesterday. Both girls played good squash which kept the spectators on the edge of their seats not knowing who will win the match until the final serve. In the Boys under 17 final Gihan Swaris beat H.S.Udayasiri, 9-0, 9-1 and 9-2.

Defending champion Nirasha Guruge retained the title when she took the under 19 title when she overcame Randima Ranaweera 9-2, 9-2, 9-3.

The Boys under 19 title went to Gihan Swaris when he beat Kasun Weerasuriya 9-2, 9-4, 9-2.
