St. Sebastian's College, Moratuwa Under 17 Basketball team emerged champions at Colombo South Zonal Basketball Championship beating St. Peter's College, Colombo 4, in the final worked out at St. Peter's College court.

It was relatively an easy task for the Sebastianites through the initial task beating St. John's College, Nugegoda 87 to 29, Colombo South International College 82 to 23 and Isipathana College 50 to 30 was hard.

In the quarter final match Sebastianites beat St. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia 66 to 29. The semi final match was worked out at St. Peter's College court and Sebastianites beat Lyceum International College 85 to 61.

The final St. Sebastian’s edged out the Peterites by just 4 points with final scores resting at 64 to 60. Ramesh Fernando captained the Sebastianites team. Sanitha de Mel and Stephan Fernando were adjudged the Best Player of the Tournament and Best Defensive Player of the Tournament respectively.
