Dhanika, Maleena bring pride to Sri Lanka at The Junior Open
 

Braving almost gale force winds that swept across Southport last week, Ladies College girl Maleena Awn, and British School boy Dhanika de Silva, both just fifteen, fared well at the just concluded Junior Open, golf’s most prestigious championship for youngsters sixteen and under. Dhanika played extremely well to be placed third overall in the Bronze division.

Maleena did well to be placed eleventh in the same division. Both youngsters were selected by the Sri Lanka Golf Union [SLGU] after three days of trials in Nuwera Eliya. Their travel was sponsored by SriLankan Airlines.
