Toys By Ding

Birthdays are the second most wonderful time of the year for me. So in a Toys special, I'm compiling the ultimate wish list.

Nikon D300

A friend of mine introduced us, and it was love at first sight. Nikon's 12.3 mega pixel Semi-Pro Digital SLR offers everything from 51 AF-points to a class leading 6.5 fps drive motor. Strap on Nikon's MD-10 horizontal grip cum battery pack, and you can increase the frame rate to a mind blowing 8 fps. This side of a D3, this is as good as it gets.

Aero Garden

The space geek in me tells me that I need to get one of these. This little baby uses NASA certified growth technologies to grow stuff using water, and a Nutrient Pill. Just get the seed pod, pop it in, and with a few adjustments it starts to grow.

You can grow everything you want to grow at home, including Tomatoes, Lettuce, Pepper and other small herbs and spices. A quick bit of YouTubing showed that the enterprising and innovative generation has found out that they can also grow in it.

Tamiya Scania

I'm a sucker for Remote Controlled cars and Big Rigs. And model and RC car manufacturer Tamiya has been smart enough to combine the two!

The Scania from Tamiya is a 1:10 scaled version of the original long haul big rig, and comes with working lights all round, a three speed transmission and even a coupling device thing. Which means you can buy the various trailers that Tamiya offers, and take your big rig for a drive, MT.

Alienware Area51 m15x

And finally, the ultimate in gaming laptops. Alienware, Dell's performance arm can put in everything from a Core 2 Extreme processor to 4GB of RAM, 200GB hard disk, and a nuclear powered (well, not really) nViDIA GeForce 8800 card with 512MB.

There are super sexy touches everywhere, including an illuminated keyboard, side lights, and that awesome trademark Alien logo on the lid with the gill design.
