Funday Times - A Poem for the week

Nature
Vinu Wijeratne (11 years), Girls' High School, Kandy

Gurgling streams and twittering birds,
The cool breeze and twinkling stars.
Ripen fruits, mountains clad in green,
Make the earth a haven.

The full moon and the golden sun,
Many places where we can roam.
Funny, furry and scary creatures,
There's a wonderful animal kingdom.

The sky which is full of drifting clouds,
And creepers which run through trees,
Dewdrops which hang on the grass,
Pretty flowers which grow on bushes.

When the darkness veils the pole,
Pitter-patter the dewdrops fall,
The crickets start whistling,
Isn't nature a wonderful sight?
