PC polls nominations begin on June 27

 

Nominations for the North Central and Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council elections will open on June 27 and close on July 4, Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake announced last night.
The date for the elections will be announced soon after nominations closed.

The government on Monday dissolved the two councils. At stake are 31 seats at the North Central Provincial Council with 21 members elected from the Anuradhapura district and 10 from the Polonnaruwa district – and 42 seats in the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council -- 24 members from the Ratnapura district and 18 from the Kegalle district.
