Rodney’s ‘Ocean Waves’ ready to splash

For the first time in Sri Lanka’s teledrama history, popular Maldivian stars Shah and Hannan play the lead roles in veteran journalist cum teledrama maker Rodney Vidanapathirana's latest tele serial ‘Ocean Waves’.

Janaki Wijeratne from Sri Lanka and Wimal Alahakoon from London play the other key roles in the love story scripted by Rodney, in his eighth teledrama. Initial parts of the teledrama including a song sequence in Sinhala and Divehi (Maldivian language) were picturised in Wadduwa and in Mount Lavinia in past two months.

Ranga Kariyawasam handles the camera of the 15-episode tele serial, while Sunil Dharmasena will compose the music scores. Journalist Rodney Vidanapathirana has directed popular teledramas and penned songs, which have been popular among music fans.

Rodney was among the film journalists, who received a special award last month for his contribution towards the welfare of the Sinhala cinema industry. The work of ‘Ocean Waves’ will be completed soon.
