A poet and a thief meet at Alliance Francaise

The Man on the Train (L'homme Du Train) French comic-drama directed by Patrice Leconte will be screened at 3.00 pm on Tuesday April 15 and 6.30 pm on Wednesday April 16 at Alliance Francaise, Barnes Place Colombo-7.

A man, Milan (played by Johnny Halliday) steps off a train, into a small French village. As he waits for the day when he will rob the town bank, he runs into an old retired poetry teacher named M. Manesquier (Jean Rochefort). The two men strike up a strange friendship and explore the road not taken, each wanting to live the other's life.

This 2002 which was shot in Annonay, France, won the audience awards at the Venice Film Festival for ‘Best Film’ and ‘Best Actor’ (Jean Rochefort) in 2002. It stars Jean Rochefort and Johnny Hallyday in the lead.
