Charika: Hosting the show

It's a novel TV experience for Sri Lankan viewers; a forum for women to speak their minds, to discuss a variety of issues ranging from beauty, life style, wedding planning to independence and confidence building. Presented in the form of a talk show, 'Lux Ruwathi Uwathi' will be telecast on Swarnavahini every Sunday, starting from today, April 6 from 7.p.m. to 8 p.m. The host of the programme is vivacious Charika Wanigasekera.

Speaking about the show Charika said she is delighted to host this type of a TV show which provides young women with a 'much needed' platform to express their views and live out their dreams.'

A significant feature of this first ever talk show is that it will invite young Lankan viewers for a make-over upon which they will undergo an unbelievable transformation given by two of the leading icons in the Sri Lankan fashion arena- Ramani Fernando and Michael Wijesooriya. Those taking part in this event will also stand a chance to be crowned the "Lux Ruwathi Uwathi" who will be selected based on the SMS received from the general public.

Speaking at the Lux Ruwathi Uwathi launch Director Personal Care Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd, Ramani Samarasundera said that the intention of this programme is to bring consumers together to bask in the glory of beauty- a beauty that anyone can enjoy.
