A period of unrest - Mahavamsa  
After the demise of King Nissankamalla, the country was in such a turmoil, that there never was such a period of unrest. However, it is Prince Veerabahu, who was the Yuvaraja, who ascended the throne. He was the son of King Nissankamalla. He ruled for only one day. On the second day, he was assassinated. This was done by the Commander-in-Chief named Thaviru, claiming that Veerabahu was not a legitimate child of the king.
 
The 7th ‘Nanapiyasa’ library is now opened!

The Disaster Management Committee of the Sri Lanka Girl Guides Association (SLGGA) started a library for the students of 'Pallangsena Kanishta Vidyalaya,' Negombo on February 2, 2008. It was declared open by Mrs. Shanta Jayalath, the Deputy Chief Commissioner of the SLGGA. This was the 7th library to be opened under the Disaster Management Committee's 'Nanapiyasa' library project, which was started in 2007.
