Young voices from Germany on tour of Sri Lanka

The choir- all set to perform in Galle and Colombo

For an area in eastern Germany with GroBenhain as its centre, Sri Lanka became a concrete reference point: both for post-tsunami help and accompanied cultural programmes, amongst them this particular presentation. In 2007, a choir of 16 people, the "Comedian Harmonists Revival Choir" - also supported by the Goethe - Institut- came to Sri Lanka and had great public success.

The promoter and composer Stefan Janke has assembled a new choir, the Ecumenical Youth Choir, which is now touring Sri Lanka. The German Youth Choir on tour in Sri Lanka will sing at the Cathedral, in Galle today, Sunday February 10 at 9 a.m. and at 5 p.m. in the Peace Pagoda, at Rummassala Kanda, Unawatuna.

They will hold a workshop on Monday, February 11 at 9 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Convent, Galle. The choir is sponsored by the Goethe Institut, Sri Lanka. In Colombo, they will sing on Thursday, February 14, at 6 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 07.
