Siam House opens new branch at BIA

A new branch of Siam House, the restaurant serving authentic Thai cuisine opened at the departure lounge of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

A statement from the restaurant said the new branch whose parent company is Benjarong a Thai – Sri Lankan joint venture, has a seating capacity of over 100, and is open round the clock with both on-the –go ‘light’ meals and a full a la carte menu at competitive prices with subsidised meals for airport staff. Managing Director Lionel Fernando said quality and consistency was vital in this industry. He said, “for each respective menu, an experienced chef will be on hand. Chefs from Thailand will work alongside chefs from Sri Lanka, all of whom are qualified and have many years of industry experience.” Fernando also pointed out that although eating is a necessity, ‘to eat intelligently is an art.’ Siam House has been able to capture this art of cuisine and presentation through its use of authentic ingredients, cooking methods and by creating the perfect dining atmosphere.

Siam House and Benjarong have recently set up a full service commercial kitchen and bakery adjacent to the airport. This commercial kitchen has the capacity to produce 6000 meals per day.
